Morris & Opazo, is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner, has supported Facturactiva del Peru by developing an analytical platform to compare data from its daily and historical operations, optimizing its tasks of obtaining and consuming its data and reducing decision-making times, strengthening decision making.
The challenge to solve
The company currently has an infrastructure deployed in AWS for its core customer electronic billing operations, which are carried out in an IaaS environment in Amazon EC2, sending said information to various databases.
Due to the format of the data contained in the RDS source database and the large size of information about various clients, it is difficult to control their information. In addition, the client requested support in the analytical processing of their data.
Proposed solution
The solution included the deployment of a functional analytical platform that allows processing and analysis of persistent data from its daily and historical operations. In addition, a MariaDB database was migrated to the cloud, managing a set of Dashboards for analytics in Quicksight, as well as setting up and defining the AWS CloudFormation service as a template for future replicas.

It was possible to migrate information from an RDS for MariaDB database to a DW with a relational model in Amazon Redshift in a controlled environment, deploying a set of dashboards and visualizations according to the analytics required by the client, maintaining an infrastructure according to the functional need that allows you to exploit your historical data by developing analytics and BI services in Amazon Quicksight, giving your executive team tools to strengthen the decision-making process.
